The most wonderful time of the year!

I finally made time to do some decorating for Christmas.  It truly is the most wonderful time of the year.
At first, I am always so overwhelmed by the boxes and tubs full of holiday decorations but then, as I begin to go through each box and find things I've forgotten about, I love it.  For me, the most difficult part of decorating for Christmas is finding just the perfect spot for the decorations that I love and treasure.

This little gingerbread man is one of my favorites.  My sweet little Asa made him one year at school.  Can you tell he did it all by himself?  And that's exactly what I love about it!  This little treasure always gets a good spot on our tree.  In fact, most of the decorations on our tree were made by my three boys.

I love my vintage decorations too.  In the background is my Christmas village.  The boys used to actually sneak and play with the village like doll houses.  I kind of miss those days.

And of course I try to do something creative every year.  Sometimes it works out, and sometimes it doesn't. This year I made a tree for the porch with my old bushel baskets.  I used clothespins and springs to make the snowflakes. (Thank you Pinterest.)

I have a few more pictures of this year's decorating that I will add to my seasonal decorating page.  Please feel free to comment.  I've had only one comment in the 9 months I've blogging.....and that was from my sister!!!!
