Fall mantel

My favorite spot in the whole house!

The mantel is my favorite spot to decorate for every season but especially for fall.  I love using branches from around the yard.  I use both fabric and real pumpkins.  The gate across the actual fireplace was a super find at Antique Alley.  It just happened to be in my sister's booth so we worked out a trade :-)  The gate on the mantel and the window pretty much stay up there all the time and I decorate around them.  They are just the perfect height for that spot.  Basically, whenever I buy something new, I try it out on the mantel and hearth first.  It's just my favorite spot.  If you don't have a fireplace, you can still have a mantel.  You can buy a vintage mantel or even make your own.  Just a shelf that you change seasonally would work just fine.  Send me your mantel pictures and I'll post my favorites.  thefrayedfeather@gmail.com
